Bathroom Products Types
There is no strict rule to classify bathroom products. We classify them as follows:
- Bathing bathroom products
- Basins bathroom products
- Showering bathroom products
- Towel Rails
There are more detailed bathroom accessories but these do not require a substantial investment.
Bathing Bathroom Products
Bath come in variety of shapes and styles.
The most popular are the rectangular models.
The current hit are freestanding claw items.
If you want to save some space then corner baths need a serious consideration.
The spa-baths are becoming a norm in new houses.
But, it is expensive to replace your old bath with the spa system in the existing house.
However, when the house is built from scratch the cost difference can be as little as $1000.
Thus, many new home owners decide to install the spa during the home construction (rather then to spend thousands on future bathroom renovation).
Baths belong to more expensive bathroom products. You pay around $1300-$1500 for a good quality bath.
Spas are $1000-$2000 more expensive.
Basins Bathroom Products
Basins come in two shapes: oval and rectangular.
However there are plenty of styles for these bathroom products.
The current fashion are large volume bathroom sinks.
The good news is that they do not cost a lot of money.
The cheapest counter basins are about $110.
The more expensive ceramic above-counter models sell for $240.
This is probably one of the vital bathroom products, which are affordable even in the more expensive range.
Showering Bathroom Products
There are three items in this category: shower heads, rails and arms.
A simple bathroom shower head with a hose costs around $45.
The similar massage-hand shower sells for $65.
Dumpers (permanent fixture-type showers) are more expensive.
The price for basic models is about $150.
The top of the range products sell for $400.
Multi function shower units (hand-held shower plus adjustable dumper) start from $300.
More advanced models easily cross a $440 mark.
Towel Rails
Towel rails are pretty obvious.
You can have free standing or wall-mounted options.
The basic towel rail costs as little as $30-$50.
However, the new trend is in the heated towel rails.
These bathroom products are expensive.
A 5 rail unit (600mm by 950mm) costs about $400.
The same towel rail in the 8 rail version sells for $600.
Unfortunately, this is only the cost of the product.
The installation of heated towel rails requires a licensed electrician.
Thus, another $200-$300 is needed to mount the unit.
